Voters have cast their ballots after a long, divisive presidential campaign between Republican President Donald Trump and former Democratic Vice President Joe Biden.
In addition to the race for president, 35 seats in the U.S. Senate are up for grabs this year. Democrats are trying to win the majority in the Senate and take control of both chambers of Congress. To make that happen, Democrats need a net gain of four seats, or three if Biden wins and the vice president serves as a tiebreaker in the Senate. Meanwhile, Republicans are fighting to hold their majority in the Senate, and even looking to pick up at least two additional seats in Alabama and Michigan.
