Minnesota Governor Walz visits with some Red Lake Tribal Counci members and Oshkiimaajitahdah

RED LAKE, MN October 29, 2020 - Today the Red Lake Nation welcomed Minnesota Governor Walz for a short visit while he was in the area. Governor Walz sat down while social distancing and visited with some of the Red Lake Tribal Council. They discussed many topics including but not limited to: Education, Racism, Election, Medical Cannabis, COVID-19 surge in Beltrami Co. to name and he also toured Oshkiimaajitahdah which has state and federal funded programs: Community Action Program, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, P.L. 102-477.

Governor Walz was able to see first hand Oshkiimaajitahdah Institute of Technology (OIT) which is moving forward to create new training programs for the future.
