Red Lake Transfer Station transitions to Compactor Bins

RED LAKE, MN - The Red Lake Transfer Station will be transitioning from open bin sites to compactor bins starting October 27, 2020. The new equipment is scheduled to arrive this week and installation will be complete by Tuesday. To help the community during this transition, attendants will be on site Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM.

The compactor units will be for household garbage only. Green signs will be posted indicating drop locations for larger items such as furniture, appliances and yard debris. Bin locations will remain the same in Red Lake, Redby and Ponemah.

However, the Little Rock District bins site has relocated to the entrance of Circle Pine. The large item drop area for Little Rock will remain at the former bin site.

For years, the bin sites have created health hazards and pollution caused by the bears and people setting fire to the garbage bins. the 6 new hydraulic com[actors are enclosed, which will help eliminate that problem. Working together, we can protect our environment and have a clean site for all.

We appreciate your patience during this transition.
