WINTER WEATHER LIKELY THIS WEEK, POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT ON THURSDAY...

The first round of winter weather is expected to impact the region Tuesday, bringing 2 to 4 inches of snow, with the highest amounts expected over portions of west-central and northwest Minnesota.

A more robust winter system is expected Thursday. This has the potential to bring higher snowfall amounts compared to Tuesday, and greater impacts. There is still much uncertainty surrounding this system, so stay tuned for later updates.

Tuesday

Snow, mainly after 9am. High near 34. Southeast wind 8 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Tuesday Night

Snow likely before 8pm, then snow and freezing rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 26. South southeast wind 7 to 11 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. West wind 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
