Gerald W. "Jiggy" Hawk, Makadewigaboo – "Blackman Standing" of the Kingfisher Clan, age 66, of Bemidji, MN, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Gerald was born on April 27, 1954 in Red Lake, MN to George Jacobs and Justina Hawk. He grew up in Ponemah, MN and later moved to Bemidji, MN. He was a Pow Wow MC as well as a singer. He was a skilled Native American crafter and specialized in dream catchers. He had a great sense of humor, liked to joke around and was a good story teller.

He is survived by three children: Gerald Hawk, Jr., Brody Hawk and Marissa Kingbird; six grandchildren: Aiden Sayers, Brody Hawk, Jr., Alysia Hawk, Kayleigh Kingbird, Sabrina Kingbird, Alex Addison and another grandchild on the way; his brother, Michael Hawk, as well numerous other relatives and friends.

Jiggy was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Deland Hawk and Donna Hawk.

The wake will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN and continue until the time of the service at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 9, 2020. Active casketbearers will be: Arlan Johnson, James Kingbird, Mark Kingbird, Montana Kingbird, Tyrone Smith, Preston Spears, Roderick Whitefeather and Lee Whitefeather. Interment will be at the Hawk Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN.
