Nathaniel Todd LeBeau, April 17, 1990 ~ September 29, 2020 "Ista Oyate Wayankapi" (The People Watch Him) 30 of Bismarck and the Spirit Lake Nation passed away at Sanford Medical Center, Bismarck ND.

Visitation for Nathaniel will be held on Monday, October 5, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake ND. Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery with Reverend Paul Schuster officiating. The procession to St. Michael will leave on Monday from City Plaza at 12:30 p.m. Nathaniel will be laid to rest in St. Michael's Cemetery.

Creator gifted Nathaniel to Rose and Todd LeBeau in Devils Lake, ND in 1990, where he spent his early childhood. He attended Four Winds elementary school in Fort Totten until he moved to Waldorf, Maryland at age 9. This is where he met his lifelong friend, Sade Hill. Nathaniel spent a few years in Maryland and moved back to North Dakota where he lived with his sister Missy in Grand Forks. Nathaniel missed his brothers and decided to move to Florida with his dad and Pat. It was in this time that Nathaniel taught himself Spanish and where his love of Reggaeton music began. Nathaniel then moved with his mother Rose to Albuquerque, NM. Eventually he returned to North Dakota to live with his sister Natalie and graduate from Warwick High School as the Salutatorian. Nathaniel was active in various sports, especially running. He broke the 1 Mile record at Piper High School in Fort Lauderdale, FL. After graduating, Nathaniel worked various jobs and spent some time in the North Dakota National Guard. This is when he met and recently rekindled a fondness for his special friend Jamie. Most recently he lived with his sister Natasha and worked as a server at Red Lobster in Bismarck.

Nathaniel received his Dakota name in ceremony as a little boy. He attended many ceremonies, sundances, and Native American Church meetings throughout his lifetime. Any time he was asked to support, he would be there for his family. Most recently, he made prayers at Bear Butte. He honored his culture the best way he could, and he loved attending pow wows.

Nathaniel had big dreams, but his biggest dream was to become an Egyptologist and spend time in Egypt. He was very creative and loved to sew. Most recently, he wanted to attend Design School and start his own business. He made creations for his little brothers and others he loved. His little brothers Christian and Briar meant the world to him. He even had their names tattooed on his wrists. Nathaniel was also the best Uncle. He loved his nephews and nieces with his whole heart. He was proud of everything they did. Each one was special to him in their own way. Nathaniel prided himself in his heart, to be the best brother, uncle, and son to his family.

Nathaniel met his partner Jamie while stationed with the North Dakota National Guard on flood duty. However, it took a number of years later for the two to reconnect. The two of them shared many of the same passions for food, friends and family. Together, they had dreams of a life, as Jamie was a huge supporter of Nathaniel.

Our hearts are broken as we let go of our son, brother, uncle, nephew, partner, relative, and friend. His heart was so big and he touched so many lives with his humor and love.

Nathaniel will be remembered for his tender heart, sass, love for Selena, "On Fleek" eyebrows, and loving spirit. He made many friends throughout his life. They weren't just friends most became best friends. He made a mark to all that he met with his helpful and understanding ways.
