Nespelem Valley Electric issues statement on outages in Cameron Lake, Desautel areas

September 11, 2020

NESPELEM - Nespelem Valley Electric issued a statement about system wide outages due to the Cold Spring Fire currently burning on the western part of the Colville Indian Reservation.

The statement reads: "Due to extreme fire damage in Cameron Lake and Desautel, NVEC has lost power in many areas. We have multiple neighboring utilities helping to repair our lines and restore power to our Members as soon as possible. However, until our lines can be rebuilt, and the burnt poles replaced, we have no estimated timeframe as to when this will happen. Realistically, it could be many weeks. We realize this is stressful and a big inconvenience but please be patient. We are all doing our best to take care of you.

NVEC would like to express our sincere heartbreak over the loss of so many of our members homes. Our thoughts and Prayers are with you. Please stay safe!"
