JUVENILE HEALING TO WELLNESS COURT CLERK

RED LAKE NATION TRIBAL COURTS

Open: August 31, 2020-Until filled

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for overseeing the Juvenile Healing to Wellness Court. Helping with the development of policies and procedures and developing guidebooks and presentations. Manage the scheduling and complete and file all court orders and other documents associated with the Juvenile Healing to Wellness Court. Reports directly Juvenile Healing to Wellness Court Judge. Part Time/20 hours per week position, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Responsible for coordinating the scheduling of cases within the Healing to Wellness Court to ensure the Court runs with maximum efficiency.

• Assists with policy, code, and protocol development; and assists with evaluation efforts to improve outcomes and strategies for effectively running the court.

• Help coordinate project goals and objectives with other key tribal service programs.

• Create guidebooks and presentations relating to the Healing to Wellness Court.

• Create and manage all court orders.

• Draft the weekly court docket.

• Create, manage, and file all documents related to the Court.

• Work remotely while Judge Royal travels between the Twin Cities and Red Lake.

• Communicate with the Judge to complete any and all projects necessary to ensure the Court functions efficiently.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in the Red Lake Tribal Code and Red Lake Nation Tribal Court

• Experience or familiarity with alternative courts such as family drug courts

• Excellent public speaking and presentation skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, etc.

• Ability to organize, maintain detailed records; complete necessary paperwork and meet deadlines

• Strong writing and oral communication skills

• Valid Minnesota driver's license and auto insurance

• Native Preference applies in filling this position

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check.
