A formal Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate has admitted to a federal bribery charge.
Daniel Thomas White, 44, of Peever, pleaded guilty at the Aberdeen federal courthouse this week. Sentencing has been set for May 24, 2021, according to a news release from the U.S. attorney’s office.
At the time of the bribery scheme, White served as the director of the Dakota Nations Development Corporation, an entity of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Sioux Tribe. White’s duties included, among other things, overseeing housing and construction projects for the development corporation.
