Red Lake Nation COVID-19 Emergency Response Team offers free testing in Red Lake District

Outdoor drive through testing events were offerred in all Districts; More testing is likely


RED LAKE DISTRICT - On Wednesday, July 19, 2020, the Red Lake Nation COVID-19 Emergency Response Team offered free testing for anyone 18 years and older at the new Red Lake Community Center site from 10 AM -3 PM. It was the last in a series of four testing days that would include all Red Lake Reservation Districts.

They ended up testing over 300 participants during the period.

A person had the choice of either a throat swab or nasal swab test, and both tests were minimally invasive.

Registration was provided on site, but if persons preregistered they would receive a $15.00 voucher for the Red Lake Trading Post or the Ponemah Market upon completion of the test.

Earlier tests were scheduled on July 16, 2020 at the Little Rock Community Center, July 21, 2020 at Redby Oshkiimaajitahdah, and July 23, 2020 in Ponemah at the Pow Wow Grounds area.

The tests are voluntary and there may be future testing events.
