Edward "Rob" Robert Lussier

April 3, 1985 ~ July 16, 2020 (age 35)

Edward "Rob" Lussier, age 33, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 16th, 2020 in Red Lake, Minnesota. He was born in Bemidji, MN to Roxanne (Lajeunesse) Desjarlait and Gilbert Lussier, Sr. on April 3, 1987.

Rob graduated from Red Lake High School in 2005 and attended Bemidji State University. He was proud of his accomplishments and goals. He attended and graduated from Northwest Technical College with his Forestry Technology degree in 2014. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota Crookston, graduating with his Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management. He was employed with the Red Lake Department of Natural Resources as a Forester. He loved his work as a forester, saying he wanted to work for his "home".

Rob proudly served with the Minnesota Army National Guard from December 2004 to December 2010. He was deployed as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom for nine months, 2006-2007, with C-Co 1-194. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and other awards.

Rob was a warrior, fearless, smart and kind. He liked to laugh and hear other people laugh. He had a beautiful smile and a bright personality that could light up a room. He was a genuine soul, giving, loyal, caring and so much more. He was a brother and friend to everyone he met.

Family that Rob is reunited with are his father, Stuart Desjarlait; grandparents, Rose and Elmer Lussier, Sr .; aunt, Darlene Needham; uncles, Elmer Jr. and Wayne Lussier, Lawrence Jr., Brian and Bradley Lajeunesse, Shannon "Opie" Barron and Randy Jourdain.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his parents, Roxanne Desjarlait and Gilbert Lussier, Sr .; brothers, Gilbert (Heidi) Lussier II, Dennis (Janice Two Bulls) Rice, Arlen Lussier and Cory Desjarlait; special brother, Robert Lussier, Jr .; sisters, Kristie and Delores Desjarlait; special sister, Vernelle Lussier; aunts, Roberta, Linda, Leslie, and Alice Lussier, Debra Reynolds, Sandra (Ron) Sigana, Alice and Janice (Sonny) Lajeunesse; Laura Barron and Shelley Jourdain; uncles, Arlen (Eldora) Lussier, Keith (Lisa), Bruce, Travis (Lea) and Alan (Karen) Lajeunesse, many nieces, nephews and friends.

A drive-through funeral procession for Edward "Rob" Lussier is scheduled for Friday, July 24th, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Red Lake Seven Clans Casino Parking Lot. Pallbearers for Rob will be Clayton Roberts, Jeff Barrett, Dennis Rice, Tony Arola, Robert Lussier, Jr. and Gilbert Lussier II. His honorary pallbearers are all his co-workers and friends. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic we are not planning an overnight wake. We respectfully urge all participants to practice social distancing and wear masks if possible, remain in your vehicles and a light boxed lunch will be served to you. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Rob's cremated remains will be cherished by his family.
