Alberta Benais, 53, of Red Lake, MN died Friday, 17, 2020 at the North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at the Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake, MN. A wake will begin 12 noon, Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the Little Rock Community Center, and will continue until the time of the service. Interment will be at the Big Stone Family Burial Grounds in Red Lake, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji.

She was born on February 16, 1967, in Red Lake, MN the daughter of James and Dorothy (Weise) Benais. She was raised in Red Lake next to her siblings. She attended elementary school in Wahpeton, ND, and High School in Red Lake. She was a very loved woman. She loved to spend time with her children and the children in the neighborhood. She enjoyed going to the Casino with her best friend and sister Harlene Blue. She loved to cook and her fry bread was known around Red Lake, she often made bread for family birthdays. She loved to bead Native American jewelry. She loved her grandchildren, and enjoyed watching them grow up. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her, and always remembered by family and friends.

She is survived by her: Children, Julian Benais,

Melanie Benais,

Douglas Beaulieu,

Paul Sayers,

Dylan Benais.

Siblings, Deborah (Louie Sr.) Hegstrom,

Agnes Benais,

George Benais,

Numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Donald Sayers Jr, sister Irene Benais, and brother James "Sonny" Benais.

Active Casketbearers will be: James Roper, Estabon Stevens, Reuben Wind III, David Paddy, Emilio Mendoza, Lyle Benais, and Llewellyn Benais.

Honorary Casketbearers will be all of Alberta's Nieces.
