TITLE: Response Worker

DEPARTMENT: RED LAKE FAMILY & CHILDREN SERVICES

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Ombimindwaa provides and arranges an array of culturally based intensive helping and healing services to families, that is supportive and understanding of individual, family, and community needs; engaging families through a strength-based lens that is family centered, respects the dignity and worth of families, and promotes respect and self-determination. This position provides timely and thorough response to child maltreatment reports. This position is responsible for conducting strength based assessments or investigations, building rapport, and engaging the family. The response worker determines whether any child maltreatment concerns exists, and to what degree of safety and risk to the child(ren). Create safety plans and build to natural supports so child(ren) can safely be maintained at home. Full-time position w/benefits, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Provide strengths-based assessment response for child maltreatment intakes

• Provide referral services for children and families to case managers

• Provide referrals to kinship care foster care workers

• Foster and Maintain Relationships

• Provide information for eligibility determinations for foster care

• Complete necessary documentation required by the Agency

• Participate in Agency supervision

• Provide Agency representation in Red Lake Tribal Court

• Participate in staff meetings and training activities

• Ensure appropriate Child Services are met

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or related field preferred; or

• 3 years' experience working with families in the human services, criminal justice, or related field

• Ability to pass criminal background check

• Ability to pass drug screening and remain free from substance abuse issues during employment

• Must possess a valid driver's license throughout employment

• Must have a reliable automobile and insurance throughout employment

• Must be in good standing in the Indian community

• Must be able to respond to crisis and be on call outside of work hours
