HEAD COOK-PONEMAH UNIT

ELDERLY NUTRITION PROGRAM

Open: June 15, 2020 Closing: July 7, 2020 @ 3:00 p.m.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for the day-to-day management, fiscal responsibility, nutritional, and social services of the Elderly. Assure that the program goals and objectives are achieved and maintained. This position as overall supervisory responsibility for the Ponemah Elderly Nutrition Program. Reports to the ENP Director, full time position w/benefits, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Responsible for providing on-site/home delivery meals daily.

• Responsible for informing seniors of the availability of the Ponemah Elderly Nutrition Program.

• Responsible for reviewing cycle menus with IHS Nutritionist.

• Responsible for ordering bulk raw foods and wholesale food orders(s) and delivery.

• Responsible for overseeing preparation and service delivery of meals at the Ponemah Elderly Nutrition Program.

• Responsible for maintaining weekly records of funds collected for meals and submitting these to Accounting Department for deposit.

• Responsible for arranging and providing transportation for Elderly activities at the Ponemah Elderly Nutrition Program.

• Ability to understand and interpret department budget and adhere to line items.

• Make sure kitchen is clean at all times.

• Ensures cleanup is performed after the meals, in compliance within federal and state guidelines.

• Assists cooks with serving of the meal times.

• Oversees the use and maintenance of kitchen and cafeteria equipment, insuring proper use of equipment.

• Performs a complete inventory of all food products and frozen products on a monthly basis, provides Elderly Nutrition Program Director with a copy of inventory.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• GED/High School Diploma.

• 3-6 months related experience and/or training-or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Knowledge of Traditional Foods preparation and cooking.

• Must have a current and valid Minnesota Driver's License and proof of insurance.

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check
