Dareck Michael Thompson, "Ta Sunka Isnana Wicasta" (Lone Horseman) age 29 of Sisseton, South Dakota journeyed to the Spirit World on Monday, June 1st, 2020 in an automobile accident near Breckenridge, Minnesota. He was born on April 30, 1991 to Ervin Cook Jr. and Lisa Thompson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dareck was raised by his grandmother, Janell Cook and attended elementary and high school in Prior Lake, Minnesota. In 2010, he met Shirley Rayabol – Fisher and they had two children, Michael Ray Thompson (age 3) and Carter Michael Thompson (age 6). Dareck enjoyed fishing, playing basketball, working on cars and being with his children. He was employed as a security officer at the Dakota Magic Casino.

In addition to his children, Dareck is survived by his father: Ervin Cook Jr.; eight brothers: Trent, Andy, Irvin, Scott, Jerry, Jeremy, Jarad and Adam; sister: Ashley; and grandmother: Janell Cook; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his mother: Lisa Marie Thompson and grandmother: Doris Thompson

An all- night visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4th beginning at 7:00 P.M. at the Long Hollow District Center in Sisseton, South Dakota. Funeral Service for Dareck will be held on Friday, June 5th at 1:00 P.M. at the Long Hollow District Center in Sisseton, South Dakota. Officiating will be Russell Smith and the Drum Group will be "Cook Boys".

Honorary Casket Bearers will be All of Dareck's family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be Johnny LaBatte, Dakota LaBatte, Terrell Cook, Chandler Shephard, Jerad Max, and Mike Gill

Interment at the Cook Cemetery in Sisseton, South Dakota.

The Chilson Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
