'Flurry of negotiations' on Minnesota Legislature's final day

Glen Stubbe – Star Tribune

House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt, R-Crown walked out of the House Chamber not wearing a mask. All the DFL legislators choose to wear a mask on the House floor and all the Republican legislators who were present on Sunday chose not to wear masks on the floor.

State lawmakers remained locked in negotiations over a major infrastructure package Sunday evening as they rushed toward the end of a legislative session dominated by the coronavirus pandemic.

The potential billion dollar-plus bonding bill - along with a few other unresolved spending and tax issues - could still be hammered out in June if, as is likely, the Legislature is called back into a special session to address another extension of Gov. Tim Walz's peacetime emergency.
