Babaamaajimowinan (Telling of news in different places)
MAY 3, 2020 GRANT VALLEY TOWNSHIP, BEMIDJI, MN: On Sunday, May 3, 2020 at approximately 12:34 AM, the Beltrami County 911 center received a call from an adult subject reporting gunshot wounds and a residential fire. This occurred in the 11000 block of Trengrove Rd NW, in Grant Valley Township, which is located approximately 10 miles west of the City of Bemidji.
When Deputies arrived they found the residence fully engulfed in flames and an adult male in an adjacent outbuilding suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Sanford-Bemidji Emergency Department where he underwent treatment. His condition is unknown and his identity is not currently being released.
After the fire was extinguished, a body was located inside the residence. A pending autopsy and identification of the individual will be conducted by the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office.
This investigation is ongoing and no further information is being released at this time. The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Bemidji Fire Department, Bemidji Ambulance Service, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota State Fire Marshall's Office, and multiple area law enforcement agencies.
