Schools stay closed for the academic year, some businesses will be allowed to reopen Monday

ST. CLOUD - Schools in Minnesota will remain closed through the end of the school year, but some businesses will be able to reopen Monday under two executive orders signed Thursday by Gov. Tim Walz.

Executive Order 20-41 extends the governor's order to close schools through the rest of the 2019-20 school year. It also requires school districts to designate Friday, May 1 and Monday, May 4 as staff development days to prepare for extended distance learning.
