April 7, 2020
On March 30, 2020, Northern Peace Funeral Home wrote a letter to the Families of the Red Lake Nation, stating in part: "As of April 15, 2020, we will no longer assist with families from Red Lake unless families decide on direct cremation with a memorial service held at a later time, there is an insurance policy available to cover the costs, families pay the difference out of pocket at the time of arrangements or until the Red Lake burial fund is increased."
