Attorney General Ellison: Governor Walz delivers testament to Minnesota's spirit and resilience

Will keep helping all Minnesotans afford their lives and live with dignity and respect through the coming winter to the spring that will come — as spring always does

April 5, 2020 (SAINT PAUL) — Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison released the following statement about Governor Tim Walz’s State of the State speech this evening:

“Governor Walz has delivered a testament to the spirit, grit, and resilience of our state and our people. The crisis is coming at us faster than we can meet it — and people, businesses, workers, and communities are drawing on Minnesotans’ strength and resilience as never before. We’re in for a long winter — and we’ll get through it together like Minnesotans always do. There’s so much we miss as our lives have ground to a halt — there’s so much we can appreciate in the new slowness of our lives. When the spring comes, we’ll dig out and grieve what we lost—and we’ll celebrate what was given to us.

“I appreciate the Governor’s clear, steady leadership at this unprecedented time. I’m going to keep using all the powers of my office to support him and his leadership. I’m going to keep helping all Minnesotans afford their lives and live with dignity and respect through the coming winter to the spring that will come — as spring always does.”
