For thousands of children around the state, pause of youth sports leaves many unknowns

March 31, 2020

A big moment for the Guse family: Wilson Guse just hit his first over-the-fence home run, earning a fist bump from Dad/third base coach Bryan Guse. More of those moments have been put on hold across the nation with the coronavirus pandemic postponing all youth sports and other such gatherings

There is a picture Bryan Guse keeps in his office of a baseball game on a sunny day last summer. Bryan's son Wilson is rounding third on his way home after the first over-the-fence homer of his life. He and his dad, who is coaching third, are about to bump fists.

"Looking at this just bums me out with the current situation," Guse said.
