As schools shift lessons online, experts fear some kids may get left behind

At 10 a.m. Tuesday, Kelsey Lafferty fired up the laptop at her kitchen table and opened a Google Hangout to see a tile board of faces of every one of the fifth-grade students she teaches every day.

"I have 25 in my class and then we had a student or two pop in that was from another class," said Lafferty, who teaches at Eberwhite Elementary School in the Ann Arbor Public Schools. "I was like, the more the merrier."
