Red Lake School District #38 - Food Service for Children - P2

The COVID-19 School Closure has left families concerned about the availability of a variety of resources during the school shutdown. To address this concern, Red Lake School District, will be preparing and delivering breakfast and lunch to the homes of children aged 18 and under daily (Monday through Friday).

March 17 – 27

RLSD #38 will provide a breakfast/lunch program during the time of the school shutdown. The breakfast and lunch will be delivered together, in one box or bag. The program will work as follows:

 A lunch for the day and a breakfast for the next morning will be provided together in each box/bag lunch. All meals will be prepared at the RLSD kitchens daily. There will be NO COST for the meals for ANY child.

 Beginning, Tuesday, March 17, 2020, the meals will be delivered by Red Lake School buses to regular bus route stops.

 A double meal box/bag will be delivered on Thursday, March 19, to accommodate for the previously scheduled no school Friday, March 20.

 Meal deliveries will begin between 12:00-1:00. Times will vary due to bus stop locations.

IMPORTANT !!!

There will be a survey included in today's (3/17/20) delivery that needs to be completed and returned to the delivery person tomorrow (3/18/20). The survey may also be done on the District web site. This is required to receive meals.

PLEASE note on the survey any safety concerns delivery staff should be made aware of. (Example: dogs, ice patches, bears)

Red Lake School District will continue to make updates/improvements to this process in order to meet the needs of our children.
