Robert A. (Bob Gray) Graywater "Hehaka Wanzi" (One Elk) 74, of Ft. Totten, ND, passed away on Thursday evening, February 27, 2020, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

A rosary and prayer service will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael's Church will leave Devils Lake City Plaza at 4:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Paul Schuster celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.

Robert Allen was born on March 26,1945 at Ft. Totten, ND, the son of Elizabeth (Robertson) and Alex Graywater Sr.

Robert attended school at Maddock School. He joined United States Army on September 9, 1966 and remained on active duty until September 6, 1968 and then the Army Reserve until September 8, 1972. Robert served his country with honor and was a Vietnam Veteran. He had various employment such as Fort Totten Police Department, Sioux Manufacturing Corporation, Ed's Off-Sale, Marie Johnson's Grocery Store in Fort Totten. In the Fall of 1983 Robert started working for the BIA Branch of Facilities Management as a custodial worker at Four Winds school and retired in 2003. In his free time, you could find him gambling at the casino on the machine, or in the slot tournaments. If you didn't see him at the casino you could find him at home watching The Andy Griffith Show, Bonanza, Judge Judy, Judge Joe Brown, or The People's Court.

Robert is survived by special granddaughter, Winona "the Weasel" Graywater; sons, Rob (Carol) Graywater, Dennis Graywater, Wayne (Jen) Black, Dustin (Shirley) Black, Wayne Graywater and Austin Herman; brother, Kenneth (Beverly) Graywater; sisters, Renae (James) LeNoir, Sonta (Dean) Dauphinais and Della Belgarde; step sisters, Beverly LaBelle, Barbara Robertson and Brenda Robertson; step brother, Wilbert (Judy) Robertson; 28 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; hunka daughters, Inez and Tamara Belgarde; many nieces and nephews also survive.

Robert is preceded in death by his daughter, Bobby Allen Graywater; son, Troy Woods; parents, Alex and Elizabeth; step-father, Jerry; brothers, Richard, Alex Jr, Michael, Andrew "Chuck", Isreal and Damion Graywater; sisters, Delemma and Pamela Graywater, many nieces and nephews.

Active Casket Bearers will be Kenneth (KJ) Graywater Jr, Cody Graywater, Darwin ThreeIrons, Koltin ThreeIrons, Charles Black, Jaylan Black, Latrell Black and Dawson Black.

Honorary Bearers will be Andrew Shaw Sr., POW and all Spirit Lake Veterans.
