Lady Warriors win 11th straight in 76-74 upset over 8AA Roseau - P5

Red Lake's JV go right up to the end in their 60-58 loss to the Rams

RED LAKE, MN - The Red Lake Lady Warriors won their 11th straight game on Thursday night, February 13, 2020, defeating a fast 8AA Roseau team with an 18-6 record.

The Lady Warriors drew first blood in the first half, and throughout there were several lead changes right up to it's end, where Red Lake led 41-37.

In the second half the action was no different, with both teams exchanging the lead several times. With .18 seconds left Roseau took the lead 74-73, only to have Red Lake take it right back with 11.2 seconds left on the clock.

Roseau had an opportunity to try and tie it, but Red Lake's defense shut them down and held on for the win, 76-74.

Autumn Holthusen led Red Lake with 31 points on the night, including going 12-13 from the free-throw line, Gerika Kingbird added 21 and Kelanna McClaoin hit for 16.

Katie Borowicz led Roseau with 48 points of her own, while Hanna Mooney had 10.

Red Lake was 18 of 22 from the charity line, while Roseau was 16 of 17.

The Lady Warriors improve to 15-8 on the season and will host Pine River on Friday, February 14th, while Roseau drops to 18-6 and host Kittson County Central on Saturday, February 15.

In the early game, Red Lake's JV went right up to the very end in their 60-58 loss to the Rams.

The Red Lake Warriors had a makeup game with Clearbrook also, winning 92-79 in Clearbrook.

The Warriors will host Blackduck on February 24th and Nevis on February 28th.
