Josephine Oriel (Face) Whitefeather

July 2, 1954 ~ February 6, 2020 (age 65)

Josephine "Josie" Oriel Face-Whitefeather, age 65, of Laporte, Minnesota began her journey to the spirit world on February 6th, 2020 from the JA Wedum Residence in Brooklyn Park, MN, with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 2, 1954 in New Town, ND, the oldest of seven children, to Mary Garfield and Joseph Face.

Josie grew up in North Dakota with her six siblings, Mike, Ricky, Lucy, Nancy, Jeannie and Rosanne.

She graduated high school and went on to college at North Field Mount Herman and Wellsley College both on the east coast and attended McCallister College in St. Paul. Josie married Spencer Whitefeather on June 28th, 1980. They loved traveling together to places like the Grand Canyon, and they loved going out dancing together whenever they could. Josie helped and encouraged everyone she knew; like the times she helped with the housing projects on the south side of Minneapolis. She worked for the Leech Lake Housing Authority from 2001-2012. Josie loved to be with her family. She loved all her brothers and sisters, her numerous nieces and nephews and her close family members and friends. She especially loved her first grandchild, Angel. Josie always had a smile on her face, and whether you just bumped into her, or not, she always had time to talk. She also enjoyed just being at home with her family and watching her favorite shows; Elementary, Frazier, The Big Bang Theory and Ripley's Believe it or Not. Josie was also a huge Star Wars fan. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her, especially her cat Bella and her dog Rex.

Josie joins her father, Joseph face and her sister, Loucia Roseanne Meade.

Josie is survived by her husband, Spencer; her children, Victoria, Eric and Seneca; grandson, Angel; brothers, Michael Meade and Richard Garfield; sisters, Nancy Meade, Winona Meade and Cecile Garfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
