Sylvia M. Ortley, age 71, of Mahnomen, MN Journeyed to the Spirit World on Thursday, January 30th, 2020 at her residence.

She was born on September 27, 1948 in Pine Point, Minnesota the daughter of Steven James & Ione Louise (Bassett) Ortley Sr.

She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sylvia liked to go to the casino and to read.

Survived by children: Nancy (Arturo) Navarro of Fargo, Lisa Ortley, Stephanie Ortley and Andrea Ortley all of Minneapolis, James Ortley of Brooklyn Center, Theresa Ortley of Minneapolis, Margaret Townsend and John Townsend Jr. both of Fargo; 43 grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters: Charlotte (Frank) Elias of Houston, Texas, Roberta Ortley of Minneapolis and Joanne Ortley of Cass Lake, Minnesota; special sister: Pauline Danforth and special brother Kenneth Basswood; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, a son Sam "Bud" Ortley, grandsons Tyler Townsend, Lucio Davila, Christopher and Dion Ortley, a great granddaughter Mia Ortley, sisters Louise Westbrook, Leona Ortley and Florence Eischens, brothers Steven, Frank, David, Charles, Thomas and William Ortley.

A combined funeral service for Sylia M. Ortley and Mia Ortley will be held on Wednesday, February 5th, 2020 at 12 Noon at The Old Pine Point School in Ponford, MN. Allen Hardy will officiate. Special music by The Jack Pine Singers and Dayton Jones.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 3rd and Tuesday, February 4th beginning at 7:00 P.M. at The Old Pine Point School in Ponsford.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Juan Vasquez Sr., Juan Vasquez Jr., Reiko Sanchez-Cordero, Jordan Cordero-Daniels, Andre Haywood, Emiliano Sanchez-Davila, Melody Pendegayaush, Juliana Thin Elk, Caiden LaFriniere, Lucio Ortley-Rivera, Arturo Navarro Jr., Nicolas Navarro, George Ortley, Johnnie Ortley, Marissa Ortley, Danielle Ortley, Drucilla Ortley, Sam Ortley Jr., Janelle Ortley and Fam.

Casket Bearers will be David Eischens Jr., Tim "Ernie" Bloom, Frank Ortley, Charles Ortley, James Ortley Jr. and Curtis Ortley Sr.
