Kelly James Maxwell, age 37, of Redby, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on January 21st, 2020 from Alexandria, LA. He was born in Bemidji, MN on March 22, 1982, the son of Gladys (Black) and George Maxwell, Sr.

Kelly grew up in Redby, MN and attended school in Wahpeton and Red Lake. He had many jobs over the years like being a PCA and at the Thief River Water Park and Hotel. Kelly loved to spend time with his family and friends; as well as traveling to powwows and grass dancing. He liked watching WWE Wrestling and playing outside and taking walks with his nieces and nephews.

He is reunited with his parents, Gladys and George; brothers, Marvin and Julius; sisters, Ida and Iris; and many more family members.

He leaves behind his daughters, Messiah, Immanuel and Kelita Maxwell; brothers, George (Sarah) Maxwell, Jr. of Redby, Marlyn (Emma) Black, Sr. of Ponemah and Kordel Black of Bemidji and numerous other relatives and many friends.

A wake for Kelly will begin at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 30th and continue until his 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Saturday, February 1st all to be held at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN. Pallbearers for Kelly will be Jayshawn Roberts, Julius Maxwell, Jr., Marlyn Black, Jr., Marvin Black, Julius Fineday, Wesley Cloud, Jr., Jerry Fineday, Shawn Fineday and Mitchell Fineday. His honorary pallbearers are all his family and friends. Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds at Ponemah, MN following his Saturday services.
