CHEMICAL HEALTH PROGRAM

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Financial Controller is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the programs and organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the program. Financial Controller will provide leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the Program has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and effectively grow the program and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. Full-time position to start as soon as possible, reporting to CHP Administration Officer. Salary dependent upon qualifications, plus attractive benefits.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Budget Management, Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the fiscal function and performance for multiple programs.

• Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.

• Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends Administration Officer and Directors

• Provides technical financial advice and knowledge by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.

• Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning tasks to supervisors; & following up on work results.

• Work with external accountants to complete required year-end audit.

• Responsible for establishing, evaluating and implementing sound financial controls.

• Review program budgets and expenditures for accuracy and compliance with appropriate laws and regulations.

• Ensure that Grant funds are spent in accordance with the budget approved Budgets.

• Work with Program Directors and supervisors to develop, implement, & monitor budgets.

• Monitor the budget monthly to ensure that spending is consistent with the approved budget.

• Work along with programs grant manager.

• Ensure that grant expenditures do not exceed budget.

• Assist program directors with reporting, modifications, budgeting and other tasks as needed.

• Update program directors on the financial status of their programs on a regular basis.

• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, local, state, and federal requirements.

• Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work and attendance at meetings or training that requires travel.

• Other related projects and tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minnesota Drivers Licenses and Insurance.

• Minimum experience: Two years as a Controller.

• Minimum education: AAS, AA, BS in Accounting.

• Strongly Preferred: CPA certification.

• Experience with inventory controls desired.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with Procentive.
