The Twin Cities could see 6 to 10 inches of snow accumulation over 24 hours starting Friday afternoon.
KSTP Meteorologist Jonathan Yuhas said we can expect a winter storm to start rolling through the state around noon Friday and linger late into Saturday morning.
The timing of the snow could heavily affect school bus routes and the evening commute.
Areas to the north and west of the metro, including St. Cloud and Willmar, will have wetter air and could see snow totals topping 12 inches, Yuhas said.
