Jocelyn Rose Jones, "Gimiwan" and "Waabishke-nibi-tibise", age 42, of the Kingfisher Clan and Red Lake, Minnesota began her journey to the spirit world on Wednesday, January 8th, 2020 from the Red Lake IHS Hospital in Red Lake, MN. She was born on May 27, 1977 in Robbinsdale, MN the daughter of Jacelyn (Johannes) and Edward Jones.

Jocelyn and her family lived in Robbinsdale for the first ten years of her life before moving to Red Lake in 1987. She attended Ponemah Elementary, Red Lake and Wahpeton Middle Schools and St. Francis Cambridge High School. Jocelyn was known for her love and care of everyone around her. Her quick wit and great sense of humor made everyone feel at home in her presence. These gifts created many strong bonds throughout her life. Through all life's hardships she always found a way to smile and laugh, never losing hope, love and strength. She made sure those around her had what they needed, often giving all she had. Jocelyn had so much love for children and grandchildren. They were her world, her love in human form. She will be missed dearly by all whose lives she touched.

Family that welcome Jocelyn to the spirit world are her dads, Edward Jones and Daniel Hobson; sister, Jilleen Jones; niece, Angel King; aunt, Brenda Jones; Windy and Jumbo Downwind; father of her children, Dennis King; grandfather, David Jones, Sr .; grandmother, Sylvia Thompson, numerous cousins and relatives.

She leaves behind her mother, Jacelyn Hobson of Redby; sons, Damon Jones of Red Lake, Dennis King of Bemidji, Roland Roy, Jr., Edward Jones, Daniel Jones and Shaw Oakgrove all of Red Lake; daughters, Tehya King of Red Lake, Shawna (Tyler) Jones of Wisconsin and Andrea Oakgrove of Red Lake; fiancé, Dean Branchaud; special sons, Kyle Neadeau, Tyrese Barrett, Josh Desjarlait and Montana Keoke, Jr .; special daughter, Amelia Buffalo; brothers, Joseph Jackson, David and Michael Barrett; sisters, Kimberly (Dan) Carl-Johnson, Lelania (Doug) Jones, Salina Jones, Rose Barrett and Jessica Schaffer; special brothers, Adrian Brown and David Brown, Jr .; special sisters, Larissa Kingbird, Melanie Brown and Holly Beth Johnson; aunts, Birdie Lyons and Karen Jones; uncles, David Jones, Jr. and Jerry Lee Kingbird; grandbabies, Anjilleen King and Xavier Davis, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

A wake for Jocelyn will begin at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 15th and continue until her 9:00 a.m. traditional service on Friday, January 17th all being held at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, MN. Zac Earley will be her Spiritual Advisor. Pallbearers for Jocelyn are Zack Morrison, Goldeneagle Stately, Timothy Goodteacher, Joe Jackson, Tyrell Jones and Joseph Jackson. Alternate pallbearers are Jeffrey Dolson, Jr. and Matthew King. Her honorary pallbearers are Desirae Downwind, Anita Scott, Jan Kelly, Rae Ravensborg, Roland Wilson, Charles Dolson, Corinne May, Stacie Clark, Dena White, Mistie Cobenais, Shannon Clark, Laileigh Dolson, Lily Jones and Mick May. Interment will be in the Cutoff Family Burial Grounds at Red Lake, MN.
