Ann Elizabeth (Gibbs) Sumner

August 4, 1966 ~ January 9, 2020 (age 53)

Ann "Annie" Elizabeth (Gibbs) Sumner, age 53, of Bemidji, Minnesota went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 9th, 2020. She was born the daughter of Darlene (Jones) and Oliver Gibbs on August 4th, 1966 in Red Lake, MN.

Annie grew up in Redby and attended school in Red Lake. Annie loved joking around with everyone and was always laughing at something. She also enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, reading, coloring in her adult coloring books, going to garage sales and traveling to the casinos to play keno. Annie was a firm believer in Christianity and loved to go to church. Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her children, her grandbabies and her friends. She will be remembered for her very generous and forgiving heart.

Family that welcome her home are her husband, Henry Sumner, Jr .; parents, Darlene and Oliver Gibbs; grandson, Michael Sumner and her nephew, James Lee Gibbs.

She leaves behind her daughters, Alice (Dayton) and Alissa Johnson both of Bemidji; sons, Guy (Evelyn), James (Jenna), Joshua (Michelle), Richard (Amber) and Albert Johnson all of Redby; sisters, Lisa Lyons and Margaret Gibbs both of Bemidji and Christine (Robert) Roybal of Redby; brothers, Richard Gibbs of Redby and George Gibbs of Bemidji; grandchildren, Jace, Macy, Keira, Audrey, Riley, Jasper, Keauni, Grayson and Cynthia; many nieces, nephews, other relative and her friends.

A wake for Ann will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14th and continue until her 12:00 p.m. funeral service on Thursday, January 16th all to be held at the Redby Community Center in Redby, MN. Pastor Tom Pollock will officiate. Pallbearers for Ann will be Guy Johnson, James Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Richard Johnson, Albert Johnson and Michael DeFoe, Jr. Her honorary pallbearers are Summer White, Margaret White, Annette Brown, Margaret Gibbs, Flower White, Lisa Lyons, Christine Roybal, Gloria Hill, Flora May, Judy Brummond, Oliver Johnson, Sr. and the Staff at Colleen's Caring Hands. Interment will be in the Redby Community Cemetery at Redby, MN following her Thursday services.
