Red Lake Warriors drop 5th in a row, lose to WHA 57-48 - P2

Red Lake's JV lost a close one to WHA 52-50

RED LAKE, MN - The Red Lake Warriors basketball team hosted Walker-Hackensack-Akley on Friday, January 4, 2020, coming on strong and led 25-19 in the first half. Twenty of twenty-five points came from Delwyn Holthusen III.

But WHA overtook the Warriors in the second half at the 8:24 mark at 42-40, and that was a lead they wouldn't give up, going on to win 57-48,

D. J. Holthusen led all scorers with 24 points on the night, 20 in the first half, and Aaron Chaboyea had 8 points.

T. J. Smith led WHA with 16 points, 14 in the second half, Eathen Anderson hit for 14 and Clay Nelson finished with 12 points.

Red Lake was 5 of 15 from the freethrow line, while WHA was 11 of 25.

WHA ups their record to 8-1 on the season, while the Warriors lose their 5th straight game and fall to 4-5.

Earlier Red Lake's JV lost a close one to WHA 52-50.

The Warriors will travel to Northwoods on Saturday January 4, travel to Pine River on January 10th. and be on the road at Mahnomen/Waubun on Monday, Jan 13th.
