WVU researchers examine log structures to find answers about Native American history

MORGANTOWN - West Virginia University researchers are taking a close look at trees and ring-data to find out more about the historical relationship between European settlers and Native Americans.

Geography graduate student Kristen de Graauw and Professor Amy Hessl found evidence of the significant growth of trees in what may have been a previously cleared area, according to a press release from WVU.
