Winter storm lashes Minnesota; snow to return Monday to Twin Cities

December 30, 2019

As the Twin Cities settled into a drizzly, foggy Sunday, a winter storm lashed other parts of the state, with blowing and drifting snow leading state officials to advise no travel in parts of northwestern Minnesota. In Duluth, high winds sent Lake Superior water over shoreline barriers, closing nearby streets.

The metro will get its turn again on Monday, when 3 to 7 inches of snow is forecast as temperatures drop below the freezing mark, according to the National Weather Service.
