Drivers encouraged to stay off Minnesota highways

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (Valley News Live) - Drivers are being encouraged to stay off state and federal highways in west central Minnesota due to dangerous driving conditions.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation issued a no travel advisory for roadways in Becker and Clay counties and northern portions of Otter Tail County.

Heavy snowfall rates and blowing snow are creating whiteout conditions.

According to MnDOT, the no travel advisory includes Interstate 94 from Moorhead to Highway 108 and Highway 10 from Moorhead to Wadena.
