The driver of a Jeep that crashed into the Torres-Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians' tribal hall Thursday night, resulting in the injury of eight people, has not been arrested and will not be criminally charged, law enforcement officials said Friday.

Officer Jackie Quintero, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman, said a CHP officer on the scene of the Thursday night crash put the driver through a standard DUI investigation, but it was determined the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash.
