Samuel D. Jackson, Jr., 30 of Fort Totten, ND began his journey to the Spirit World on Monday, December 2, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Samuel D. Jackson "Sam" was born on March 8, 1989 in Devils Lake, ND to Samuel D. Jackson Sr. and Leona Counts. He was raised in Dunseith, ND and graduated there. After graduating, he moved with his family to Fort Totten, ND. He worked at Spirit Lake Casino for a time.

Sam had health issues which included cancer and while he was in remission he had to have dialysis because of kidney failure. Although a sick young man, Sam always looked on the bright side, never complained, always encouraged others to have faith and that life was good.

Sam was on a Dart League and he loved playing video games and was quite the Gamer and started some leagues there. He was also a Rapper and went by "Slamboz". He was a dog lover and always had dogs around him. Sam especially enjoyed being with family and friends. He was a loving person, had a great sense of humor. He was a person everyone loved being around and he loved spending time with his nieces, taking them to eat and joking around with them. He always took time to talk to them, answer any questions they had and tease them.

Samuel is survived by his mother, Leona Counts; grandmother Diane Jackson; brothers Marshall Longie, Ryan Longie, Roger Baker Jr., David Jackson, Travis Jackson and Victor Rainbow; adopted brothers Devin Parisien and Monty Fassett; five nieces and I nephew.

Samuel was preceded in death by his father Samuel Jackson Sr., brother Joel Longie, grandparents Leon Jackson, Walter and Patricia Counts and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many loved ones.

Active Pallbearers: Marshall Longie, Ryan Longie, Roger Baker, William Rosenberg, Philip Alberts and Daniel Lesperance. Honorary Pallbearers will be Devin Parisien, Jack and Delia Hunt, Merry Rosenberg, Preston Yankton, Scott Yankton, Isaiah Aikin, Zack Aiken, Charlie Aiken, Kiley St. Clair, John Delorme, Brandon Henry, Dillion Longie, Joe Parisien, Sonny Jackson, Dana Jackson and Merle IronHawk, all his gaming friends, all his dart league friends, all cousins, family and friends. If we missed anyone we are sorry but Sam had so many friends it is hard to list all of them, you know who you are. God Bless You All.

Music will be provided by Alvin Counts and all Drum Groups and Singers are welcome to share their songs in memory of Sam.

The Wake for Sam will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at St. Michael's Wellness Center beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday from City Plaza.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Wellness Center at 10:00 a.m. with Father Paul Schuster officiating. Sam will be laid to rest in St. Michael's Cemetery.
