Charles F. Kelly, Jr., 60, of Red Lake, MN died Sunday, December 1, 2019 at the Red Lake Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, December 6, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wilton, MN with Fr. Jerry Rogers officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Charlie was born May 26, 1959 in Red Lake, the son of Charles and Melvina (St. Germaine) Kelly, Sr. He was raised and educated in Red Lake. He married Jan Blue October 20, 1984. During his life He was a logger, fisherman, police officer and spent his last 23 working years as a surveillance director for Red Lake Gaming. He was the president of MCIU for 4 years. He loved to hunt and was a Vikings fan. He had a relentless sense of humor and had a nickname for everyone. He always saw the good in everyone. His favorite title was Grandpa.

He is survived by his wife, Jan Kelly; children, Charles (Tiffanie) Kelly, Dionne (Andew) "Beanie" Erickson, and Chanda Kelly; grandchildren, Jalen Kelly, Katherine Kelly, Isabelle Kelly, Oliver Erickson, Sherman Erickson, and Amos Erickson; foster children, Ada Kingbird, Farrell Greenleaf, Michelle "Josh" Graves, and Dawn Schoenborn; siblings, Shelda Lussier, Carol Staples, Donald "Ducker" Kelly, Mary "Will" Norden, Patricia Kounkel, Robin Kelly, Sr., and Daniel Kelly; special sisters, Toni Anderson, Kim Cordova and Cheryl Hallum.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Melvina Kelly, brothers, Earl Skye, Sr., Douglas "Jimbo" Skye, Sr., and Ronald Kelly, Sr., and special aunt Lucille Cordova.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Bob Thunder, Buck Jourdain, Charles Johnson, Ira Johnson, Bill May, Jason Head, Wayne Clark, Gina King-Neadeau, Joci Jones, Lelania Jones, Bobbi Ann Lussier, Angela Charnoski, and Kim Schoenborn.

Active Casketbearers will be Oliver Erickson, Andrew Erickson, Phil Sayers, Henry "Bits" Donnell, Jalen Kelly, and Lee Erickson.
