A bike commuter made his way towards the Martin Olav Sabo Bridge, above Hiawatha Avenue in the morning snow Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, in Minneapolis. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning for the Twin Cities, as well as southern Minnesota and west central Wisconsin.

The first big winter storm of the season is aiming for southern Minnesota just in time to bedevil Thanksgiving travel plans.

Snow is expected to fall starting late Tuesday afternoon, dropping up to 6 inches that will be whipped around by strong winds Wednesday.
