Star-Studded Fundraiser Aims to Help Children and Their Families Fight Cancer

Mixing it Up with the Champs event be held this Friday, Nov. 22 in Las Vegas to show children they are not alone in their battle

Beverly Hills, California (November 20, 2019) – The Lifedriven Foundation along with Team Watson Boxing Club and EBK Global is proud to announce today plans for its Mixing it Up with the Champs event from 8 to 11 p.m. on Friday, November 22 in the Ling Ling Room Haskkasan located in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. This fundraising event will take place on the eve of the PBC Heavyweight Title Bout between Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz which will happen the next night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The Mixing it up with the Champs event is scheduled to be a star-studded affair to raise funds for children and their families who are battling cancer.

“As a cancer survivor myself I understand the importance of support,” said Chris Word, Executive Director of The Lifedriven Foundation. “We are fortunate to have the support of Team Watson helping us to make this event a success.”

Word said that having true fighters, like professional boxers in his foundation’s corner, inspires him and the children the foundation supports.

“The Watsons have done an incredible job of bringing this event into the spotlight,” said Word. “We are very thankful to them for delivering support and hope.”

And while the main purpose of the event is to inspire children to beat cancer, it is the boxers who lend the support who are also inspired.

“It’s a two-way street,” said Brandon Watson of Team Watson. “Many of our fighters have had their lives touched by cancer and they know it is important to give back. Seeing these kids fight this disease inspires them to be better fighters and better humans.”

The invited guest list to the Mixing it Up with the Champs event is a who’s who of A-list celebrities and athletes who are known for lending their support to worthwhile causes.

“It’s fight weekend in Las Vegas so we know there will be plenty of star power on The Strip.” said Word. “We are getting indications that this will be an event with some of the most well-known and powerful people in attendance to raise awareness on the fight these kids are enduring.”
