4 firms sue city over loss of minority contractor status

Four firms this month filed a federal lawsuit against the city of St. Louis over the loss of minority contractor status.

The plaintiffs are CCI Environmental Inc., D.W. Mertzke Excavating & Trucking Inc., Global Environmental Inc. and Premier Demolition. The companies claim principals are "minority group" members because they are members of the Northern Cherokee Nation American Indian
