Authorities locate juvenile after search early Wednesday

BEMIDJI -- Authorities located a missing female juvenile Wednesday morning after a multi-agency search.

A press release from the Bemidji Police Department said officers responded to the Sanford Health emergency room at 3:51 a.m. based on the report of an intoxicated female. The 19-year-old female told officers she was drinking with a 16-year-old juvenile female in the area of Anne Street and Irvine Avenue. The two fled northeast "into a swampy area after seeing a squad car," according to the release. They then walked through the swamp, but the 16-year-old eventually couldn't walk on her own any longer.
