MINNEAPOLIS - Elected officials and tribal leaders from across Minnesota called out the Washington, D.C., professional football team for using a name and logo that is commonly criticized as racist toward Native Americans on Thursday, Oct. 24.
Speaking that night to a crowd gathered outside the U.S. Bank Stadium, where the team played the Minnesota Vikings, the officials demanded the name and imagery associated with it be retired. Particular criticism was reserved for Dan Snyder, the team's majority owner.
