Hazel B. Olson, a resident at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, passed away at the age of 77 on Monday, October 14, 2019. She was born May 29, 1942 in Cloquet to Samuel and Martha (Shotley) Thompson. Hazel enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo and listening to country music. She was a member of Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

Hazel is reunited with her parents; her brothers and sisters, Gene, Bob, Bev and Mary; her sons, Lonnie and Darrin; and her granddaughter, Clarice. Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her sister, Edith Peterson; her children, Martha "Sissy", Eugene, Jodi, Wendell, and Sherry Olson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Fond du Lac Gymnasium and continue throughout the evening until the funeral service, 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2019. Interment will be at the Old Holy Family Cemetery.
