Sheriff's Office investigating fatality crash

LANGOR TOWNSHIP, BLACKDUCK, MN: At approximately 4:30 PM, September 24, 2019, the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office 911 center received a report of a two vehicle crash between a passenger vehicle and a farm truck in the 16000 block of Nebish Rd NE (County Road 32), approximately 3 miles west of Minnesota Trunk Highway 72 in Langor Township, which is located approximately 26 miles northeast of Bemidji, MN.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the eastbound 2010 Honda FIT passenger vehicle, driven by a William C. Berne, age 32, of Blackduck, MN appeared to cross into the oncoming lane of a westbound 1989 International 9300 farm truck driven by Roxanne M. Gross, age 55, of Hines, MN and collided head on. Upon arrival of emergency personnel it was determined that Berne had died at the scene of the crash. Gross was transported by Blackduck Ambulance to Sanford Hospital‐Bemidji with non‐life threatening injuries.

Assisting the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office were Blackduck Police Department, Blackduck Ambulance Service, Blackduck Fire Department, and Minnesota State Patrol.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation with the assistance of Minnesota State Patrol and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
