Leech Lake Tribal Police find what appears to be human remains in rural wooded area

On September 10th, 2019, Leech Lake Tribal Police Officers initiated a search effort in rural Cass Lake in Cass County, MN pursuant to an ongoing investigation. Searchers found what is believed to be human remains in a rural wooded area. The remains were recovered and an autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.

Assisting agencies are the Cass County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and Northstar Search and Rescue.
