4-DIRECTIONS DEVELOPMENT

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

To be the Lead Coordinator for the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA) 3 Reservation Arts grant; serving as the coordinator of the planning and implementation of the training and festival activities in the City of Bemidji.

Reports to Executive Director, full-time position w/benefits, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with partner and resource relationship building and maintenance.

• Maintain and monitor project objectives, plans, schedules, budgets and expenditures.

• Organize and facilitate project meetings in participation with core partners.

• Be the lead event planner in the planning and implementation of the Arts Festival.

• Work closely with the Co-hort group that includes a significant representation of artists.

• Document and follow up on important actions and decisions for the project.

• Prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings.

• Ensure project deadlines are met for the project.

• Monitor for any needed project changes or adjustments.

• Assist with grant administration duties including reporting and evaluation.

• Help guide strategic planning for the project.

• Ensure that all data collection and project documentation is being maintained.

• Oversee the implementation of the artist's database, calendar, resource mapping, website and other products created from the project.

• Report monthly to the project co-hort group.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the Arts.

• An experienced event planner.

• Knowledge of the three Tribal partners and their communities.

• Grant Management experience will be a great addition.

• Project Management also a plus.

• Employment is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug test and background check.
