State health, Minneapolis parks officials to discuss closing of Lake Nokomis beaches due to E. coli outbreak

Background

State health officials today confirmed Shigatoxin-producing E. coli in three children who swam at Lake Nokomis beach in late July and early August. The two beaches at Lake Nokomis will remain closed until further notice while the Minnesota Department of Health investigates.
