Lloyd Ernest Spears, Sr., "Migizi Winini" which means "Eagle Man", age 55, of the Eagle Clan and Red Lake, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on Saturday, August 10th, 2019 from the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND with his family by his side.

Lloyd was born in Red Lake, MN on June 4th, 1964 to Rosella Lillian Spears and Ernest Kingbird. He worked as a processor for the Red Lake Nations Fisheries for many years. When Lloyd was not busy working, he enjoyed cruising around listening to his country music, playing Keno at the casino, visiting with his friends and family around the table with his drink and smoke. Lloyd loved to be with his grandchildren as often as he could and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. Lloyd liked creating native metal jewelry in his free time; he really had an eye for blending colors in the earrings, necklaces and bracelets he would make.

Family he is reunited with are his parents, Rosella Spears and Ernest Kingbird; son, Derrick Spears; daughter, Martina Sigana; brothers, Earl Spears and Lawrence Spears, Sr .; granddaughter, One Star Spears; grandma, Nancy Spears; uncle, Jerome Spears and aunt, Margaret Wright.

Family he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his wife, LaRayne "Kim" Spears of Redby; sons, Jason Spears, Sr. and Tyrone (Georgia) Spears both of Red Lake, Lloyd Spears, Jr. of Secorra, NM; Justin (Adrianne) Sigana of Redby and Orrin Sigana, Sr. of Ponemah; siblings, Ronnie Spears, Adrian Spears, Sherilyn Spears, Marlene Lussier, Roseann Spears, Roland Spears, Daryl Kingbird, Robert Kingbird, Bryon Kingbird and Della Kingbird; grandchildren, Jason Jr., Lucil "Lucy", Tyiceyanne, Tyleissiyah, Gideon, Xavier, Jaceon, Jaylyn and Orrin Jr., many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

The wake for Lloyd will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14th and continue until his 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Friday, August 16th all to be held at the Redby Community Center in Redby, MN. Pallbearers for Lloyd will be Tyrone Spears, Jason Spears, Sr., Orrin Sigana, Sr., Justin Sigana, Derrick Oliver, Raymond Oliver, Dana Oliver, Jr. and Roland Lussier, Jr. His honorary pallbearers are Sherilyn Spears, Marlene Lussier, Roseann Spears, Crystal Pierre, Donna Fairbanks, Robin Lussier, Douglas "Oscar" King, Richard Kingbird, Jeff Barrett, Sheldon Schoenborn, Dion Pierre, all his nieces and nephews and all his co-workers at the Red Lake Nation Fishery. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake, MN.
